Abstract: This research demonstrates that the leadership style of the educational manager is essential for creating a positive work environment and improving educational quality. The objective is to evaluate the performance of the educational manager at Unidad Educativa Técnica Mitad del Mundo, determining their leadership style and decision-making process through teacher surveys, in order to formulate a project to improve the institution’s work environment. A mixed-methods descriptive approach was used, incorporating surveys (with a Likert scale) administered to 50 teachers, as well as interviews with the inspector and two vice-principals. The results reflect a mixed perception of team management. While 56% believe that the manager motivates the team, 32% disagree. Creativity is encouraged according to 52%, though 40% do not perceive it that way. Trust and commitment are highlighted by 60%, while 24% see areas for improvement. Additionally, 66% feel that their opinions are considered in decision-making, whereas 20% do not. However, 54% perceive excessive control. Furthermore, 46% report high levels of stress, and 40% consider the workload disproportionate, suggesting the need for management adjustments. In conclusion, the findings indicate a direct relationship between the leadership style of the educational manager and the work environment. Teachers emphasized that a participatory and communicative leadership style fosters motivation and teamwork. However, the study also identified the need to improve certain aspects related to clarity in directives and continuous feedback.
