Abstract: Solo parenthood presents complex social, economic, emotional, and psychological realities that influence the ability of individuals to provide care and maintain family stability. This study explored the lived experiences of solo parents in Barangay Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga, focusing on their demographic characteristics, challenges encountered, coping strategies, support systems, and overall well-being. A mixed-methods descriptive research design was employed, integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches. Thirteen (13) solo parents participated voluntarily in the study. Data were gathered through a researcher-developed questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, and weighted means, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. Findings revealed that solo parents experienced various challenges affecting their daily lives, with economic difficulties emerging as the most prominent concern. Health-related and emotional challenges were also identified as significant experiences. Despite these difficulties, participants demonstrated resilience through faith, positive thinking, perseverance, effective management of responsibilities, and reliance on family and community support. The study highlights that solo parents should not only be viewed through the lens of vulnerability but also through their capacity for adaptation and resilience. Strengthening livelihood opportunities, psychosocial interventions, and community-based support programs may contribute to improving their overall well-being and quality of life.
