Numerical Investigation of Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) and Hydrodynamic Optimization in Multi-Stage Centrifugal Pump Impellers
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: The present research work provides an elaborate engineering and numerical design optimization framework of multi stage industrial centrifugal pumps impellers operating with high pressure corrosive fluids. CFD simulations have been carried out using ANSYS fluent to scrutinize their transient fluid flow behaviors, boundary layers separations and cavitations inception areas. Moreover, fluid structure interaction (FSI) couplings are mapped into ANSYS mechanical software whereupon Von Mises stresses profile, total deformations bounds and modal frequencies responses are calculated and analyzed systematically in order to ensure long term structural integrity and high hydraulics efficiency of such devices
