Abstract: This quasi-experimental study employed a two-group posttest-only comparison design to evaluate the effects of a community-based fall prevention model on knowledge, fall prevention behaviors, and satisfaction with the care model among older adults receiving services from Khok Khian Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, Narathiwat Province, Thailand. The sample consisted of 60 older adults, who were equally assigned to an experimental group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The experimental group participated in a researcher-developed community-based fall prevention model for four weeks, whereas the control group received routine care provided by Khok Khian Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital. The research instruments included a fall prevention knowledge test, a fall prevention behavior assessment, and a satisfaction questionnaire regarding the community-based fall prevention model. All instruments demonstrated excellent content validity (Content Validity Index [CVI] = 1.00) and high reliability (KR-20 = .94; Cronbach's alpha = .94–.97). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Mann–Whitney U test. The findings revealed as follows. 1. After the intervention, older adults in the experimental group had significantly higher fall prevention knowledge than those in the control group (p-value < .001). 2. After the intervention, older adults in the experimental group demonstrated significantly better fall prevention behaviors than those in the control group (p-value < .001). 3. Participants in the experimental group reported the highest level of satisfaction with the community-based fall prevention model (M = 73.07, SD = 1.84). The findings suggest that the community-based fall prevention model should be implemented in multicultural communities throughout Narathiwat Province. The model can facilitate fall surveillance, risk assessment, and home environmental modifications that are tailored to the local context, thereby reducing the risk of falls among community-dwelling older adults.
