Revolutionizing Human Resource Management through Artificial Intelligence: Integrating Recruitment, Performance Management, and Learning Systems
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is fundamentally reshaping Human Resource Management (HRM) functions across global organisations. This paper conducts a systematic review of the literature on AI applications in three core HRM domains: recruitment and selection, performance management, and learning and development (L&D). Drawing upon peer-reviewed publications, industry reports, and empirical datasets published between 2018 and 2024, the study examines how AI tools including natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), predictive analytics, and robotic process automation (RPA) are redefining traditional HR workflows. The findings reveal significant improvements in hiring efficiency (57% reduction in time-to-hire), employee retention rates (up to 18% increase), and training return on investment (121% improvement). However, critical challenges including algorithmic bias, data privacy vulnerabilities, and workforce displacement are identified. The paper proposes a framework for responsible AI integration in HRM and concludes with implications for practitioners, policymakers, and future research directions.
