Abstract: Old age continues to be a stage of life surrounded by stigma, especially regarding affection and sexuality. These dimensions, crucial to everyone's emotional well-being, are often rendered invisible in social, institutional, and family discourses, thus denying older adults the right to live a full emotional and affective life. This article aims to analyze how affectivity and sexuality manifest in older adults from a biopsychosocial perspective, in order to promote a comprehensive understanding and awareness that fosters their emotional well-being and quality of life. Through a review of scientific and academic literature, the main biological, psychological, and social factors that influence these experiences are explored, as well as the stereotypes and cultural barriers that hinder their expression. The findings suggest that affectivity and sexuality in old age do not disappear, but rather transform, remaining key components of well-being and personal identity. The importance of promoting a more humane, informed, and inclusive view of aging is highlighted, one that recognizes these dimensions as part of the right to a dignified life.
