Abstract: There are basic rules that must be available in the sound segment, including: the necessity of avoiding the meeting of two vowels in the context of the sound series. However, this avoidance is achieved at the level of the surface structure. On the other hand, at the level of the deep structure, the modern scholars set up several ways to get rid of this adjacency. Since this meeting occurs in both nouns and verbs, because the assumed origin was not one for them; these methods varied and the visions differed in relation to them. This research reveals the methods of the modernists when they interpret the phonetic transformations that affected the word structure, and the concepts on which they built their rules. It is very rare for them to agree on a supposed origin for the word structure. Keywords: Vowel adjacency, short vowels, long vowels
