Colonialismo, capitalismo e violência

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The aim of this text is to present the interconnection between the concepts of colonialism, capitalism and violence based on African philosophies and the decolonial thinking of authors such: as Aimé Césaire, Frantz Fanon, Walter Mingolo, Achille Mbembe and Aníbal Quijano. The aim is to demystify colonialism as a philanthropic endeavor, revealing it as a project of exploitation driven by economic interests, highlighting its contribution to the primitive accumulation of capital and the development of capitalism. Violence is presented as an intrinsic condition for this accumulation and some of the multiple forms of violence exercised in the colonial period are outlined, pointing out that colonial power structures persist in contemporary times in the form of 'coloniality'.
