Sobre a possibilidade de uma IA indígena e decolonial: perspectivas bioéticas em análises críticas de interações com a IA

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping societies, demanding a critical look at the knowledge systems that inform its development. This text explores how current AI reflects predominantly Western epistemologies, rooted in historical conflicts and cultural biases. It argues for the decolonization of AI, so that it can recognize and integrate the perspectives of cultures that were not present in its initial designs and implementations. The article offers a critical analysis of the limitations of existing AI technologies—from large language models to computer vision systems—observing how these ‘technological products’ represent values and aspirations anchored in an industrial and consumer culture. Through interactions with AI, we challenge its capacity to envision futures committed to core values such as wisdom, empathy, and solidarity.
