Abstract: This study considers a thin elastic plate excited by a harmonic point force and coupled to locally resonant mass–spring attachments distributed along two opposing parabolic trajectories. The resulting resonator arrangement redirects part of the incident flexural-wave energy through repeated scattering along the curved interface, thereby reducing transmission beyond the curved array and producing a downstream shielded region. An analytical model is formulated within the Kirchhoff–Love plate framework, where the Green’s function of an unbounded plate is used to describe the dynamic interaction between the host structure and the resonators. Three-dimensional finite-element simulations are used to verify the analytical predictions and characterize the redistribution of the wave field around the resonator arrangement. Experimental measurements are performed on an aluminum plate equipped with a water-jet-cut resonator arrangement using scanning laser Doppler vibrometry. The combined analytical, numerical, and experimental results show that the curved resonator arrangement produces a pronounced vibration-shielding zone beyond the resonator interface, with a substantial reduction in transmitted flexural-wave amplitude. Parametric analyses quantify the effects of curvature, normalized resonator spacing, and excitation frequency. The resulting design maps identify spacing regimes that minimize the shielded response and provide practical guidelines for curvature-based wave-shielding designs in continuous plate structures.
