Editorial: Evolving non-invasive biomarkers: chemokines and multi-omic profiling in NSCLC immunotherapy response
Year: 2026
Type: editorial
Abstract: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have changed the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), producing 24 durable disease control in a proportion of patients. However, treatment selection still depends largely on 25 biomarkers that capture only part of the tumor-immune interaction. Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) 26 expression and tumor mutational burden (TMB) remain clinically useful, but spatial and temporal heterogeneity, 27 assay variability, and reliance on a single tissue specimen limit their predictive accuracy (
