Abstract: This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Social Studies, which were caused by teacher-centered learning and the suboptimal use of technology in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the learning outcomes of ninth-grade students in Social Studies on the topic of social change at SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 students, including 30 students from class IX-A as the experimental group and 30 students from class IX-B as the control group, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing through the Independent Samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results indicated that the mean post-test score of the experimental group was 75.46, which was higher than that of the control group, which was 51.53. The hypothesis testing results revealed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of ninth-grade students in Social Studies on the topic of social change at SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya.
