Influência dos fatores sociais na mortalidade por cardiopatias congênitas: uma mini revisão integrativa
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This mini integrative review aims to analyze how social factors such as socioeconomic status, education, race/ethnicity, food and housing insecurity, and environmental exposure influence the worsening of clinical outcomes in several aspects, including: severity of heart disease, prolonged hospitalization, and increased risk of complications and early mortality. The evidence found confirms that the understanding of congenital heart disease needs to be addressed beyond the physiological perspective, but also includes the understanding that social aspects are also determinants in the experience of disease and the prognosis of congenital heart disease.
