Abstract: The ability to translate the Kitab Kuning is a basic skill in Islamic educational institutions, but some students have difficulty mastering it. One method still used in teaching this book is the Arabic-Pegon translation method. This study aims to determine the application of this method and measure its impact on students' ability to translate. The researcher employed a quantitative method and collected data through questionnaires and observations of students at the Madani Sungai Alam Islamic boarding school. The results of the study indicate that the Pegon method for translating Arabic has a positive but insignificant effect on the ability to translate the Kitab Kuning, with a regression coefficient of 0.085 and a p-value of 0.477 (p>0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.023 indicates that the Arabic pegon translation method only explains 2.3% of the variation in the ability to translate yellow books. Additionally, the Spearman correlation test shows a very weak relationship between the two variables with a correlation value of 0.153. This study involved 20 respondents. This indicates that the Arabic Pegon translation method does not have a significant effect on improving students' ability to translate Kitab Kuning at Madani Sungai Alam Middle School.
