Entrepreneurship Development Amidst Global Disruptions: A Critical Analysis Of Burning Issues And Emerging Paradigms
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The entrepreneurial landscape is undergoing profound upheaval amidst a "poly-crisis" characterised by artificial intelligence (AI) disruption, post-pandemic economic scarring, geopolitical tensions, and climate urgency. This paper critically examines ten pressing issues confronting entrepreneurship development in the 2020s, with a particular focus on the Indian and Global South context. Drawing on secondary data and extant literature, we identify structural inequities in funding, infrastructure, and access that marginalise vulnerable communities. We propose a multi-stakeholder Resilient Entrepreneurship Framework (REF) integrating policy reform, inclusive financing, AI-augmented incubation, and sustainability-embedded pedagogy. This framework offers actionable recommendations for navigating this era of global disruption, emphasising a shift from fragmented growth models to resilient, inclusive, and sustainability-anchored entrepreneurial development.
