Abstract: The interview addresses the priorities and challenges faced by public health in the current post-pandemic era, focusing on epidemiological surveillance, disease prevention, and equitable access to health care. The interviewee Jarbas Barbosa highlights key strategies for strengthening health systems, including expanding vaccination coverage, addressing regional inequalities, addressing the shortage of health professionals, and preparing for public health emergencies. Finally, Barbosa reflects on the role of international cooperation, technology, and communication in improving health policies and promoting equity among countries in the Americas in the context of climate change and its impacts on global health.
