A Quick-Start Guide to Flux Balance Analysis
Type: article
Abstract: Flux Balance Analysis is commonly used for genome-scale metabolic modelling. It is a constraint-based method that uses linear programming to find the optimal reaction fluxes that satisfy a set of constraints given an objective function. Here I describe the basic steps for conducting Flux Balance Analysis, which is applicable to metabolic networks of any size. I also provide information on general resources for getting started on this method, as well as some practical tips for avoiding or handling common issues.
