Fiber Bundle Holonomy: The Z₂-Bundle and Nontrivial Monodromy in ODTOE — E8 Intelligence Research

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: FINDING: Fiber bundle formalism — from pedagogical introductions to a speculative Z₂-bundle over the φ-torus — is the operative mathematical structure, with the only concrete new mathematical claim being the holonomy hol(γ_φ) = −1 in the ODTOE model. | MATH: Principal fiber bundle P(M,G); connection 1-form ω ∈ Ω¹(P)⊗𝔤; curvature Ω = dω + ½[ω∧ω]; holonomy hol(γ) = P exp(∮_γ ω) ∈ G. For the Z₂-bundle over φ-torus: hol(γ_φ) = −1 ∈ Z₂ ≅ {+1,−1}, implying nontrivial monodromy — the spinor double-cover structure. The Fiber Bundle Model (arXiv:2012.12698) uses Hooke's law F = kx with identical k, distributed breaking thresholds; cooperative failure under equal-load-sharing gives critical exponents, but no new constants. | CONNECTION: The holonomy −1 is precisely the sign flip under 2π rotation of a spinor — the geometric root is the double cover SU(2)→SO(3), whose center is Z₂. This connects to the Clifford algebra Cℓ₃,₀ and to the crystallographic point group 432 (octahedral symmetry) via th Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
