Rubricata and the River: Sant Feliu and a New Reading of Roman Barcelona (Rubricata Series · Essay 3)

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Rubricata and the River develops the case for identifying the Roman settlement proposed at Sant Feliu de Llobregat with Rubricata, the city mentioned by Ptolemy. It brings together ancient geographical sources, historical cartography, river landscapes, roads and water infrastructure to reconsider the relationship between Sant Feliu, the Llobregat and Roman Barcino. The third essay connects the urban reconstruction developed in the preceding volumes with a broader reading of the territory and its historical names. English edition of Essay 3 in the Rubricata series, 11 October 2026. Original Catalan edition: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23296717.
