Bringing the 6 F-Words into Primary School: Development and Validation of the ‘I Know Myself Well’ Questionnaire
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The F-Words framework introduces a holistic view of child development. This study evaluated the preliminary development and psychometric properties of the ‘I Know Myself Well’ questionnaire, a new self-report measure based on this framework. Participants included 209 primary school students in Northern Italy. Using a cross-validation framework, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed a robust two-factor structure (EFA = 90; CFA = 119): Relational Self-Awareness and Agentic Self-Projection. The scale demonstrated satisfactory fit indices and acceptable overall internal consistency. This brief tool provides a psychometrically sound, child-centered instrument to support inclusive educational planning and early career development.
