Design and Development of a Web-based Point of Sales System for Fried Chicken Msmes With Automated Reporting and Raw Material Purchase Recommendations

Abstract: Smile Chicken MSME faces challenges such as manual transaction recording, raw material inventory tracking, report preparation, and purchasing decisions that still rely on estimation. This study aims to build a web-based Point of Sales system that integrates sales transactions, inventory management, automated reports, and raw material purchase recommendations. The research uses a Research and Development approach through requirements analysis, Unified Modeling Language and database design, application implementation, and Black Box Testing. The system manages products, raw materials, recipes or Bill of Materials, transactions, incoming stock, outgoing stock, purchases, periodic reports, and users. Each transaction calculates payments and reduces inventory based on product composition. The First In First Out method organizes materials that enter earlier so they are used first. Purchase recommendations are calculated from sales history, material requirements, available stock, and minimum thresholds. Testing on 34 scenarios shows that all functions produce output according to design and support the centralized, accurate, systematic, and daily data-driven operational management of Smile Chicken.
