Autonomous Delivery: Willingness to Accept Drone Delivery by Gen Z
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The rapid growth of e-commerce and demand for faster, contactless deliveries have accelerated interest in autonomous drone delivery. Generation Z, as digitally connected and technology-oriented consumers, is expected to play a significant role in its adoption. This study examines Gen Z’s willingness to accept drone delivery services and the factors influencing their adoption, including perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, privacy, safety, cost, and environmental benefits. A quantitative survey of individuals aged 18–27 is conducted using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as theoretical frameworks. The findings are expected to show that convenience, delivery speed, and sustainability positively influence adoption, while concerns regarding safety, privacy, and trust remain key barriers. The study offers valuable insights for logistics companies, e-commerce platforms, and policymakers to promote consumer acceptance of autonomous drone delivery.
