Groundwater level trends and annual change persistence and asymmetry across monitored aquifers – reproducibility package.
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Reproducibility package for the article "Groundwater level trends and annual change persistence and asymmetry across monitored aquifers" by Fatih DİKBAŞ (Pamukkale University), Hydrogeology Journal, manuscript HYJO-D-26-00305. The package contains the code, frozen inputs, derived station and aquifer tables, figure and table source files and computational verification records cited in the article and its electronic supplementary material (ESM). It covers annual-level Sen slopes and five descriptive metrics of consecutive-year groundwater-level changes (maximum and mean negative-run length, negative-change fraction, sign-change frequency and negative asymmetry) for 539 aquifers (full record) and the 1990–2020 common-window comparison, together with the sensitivity, calibration and case-evidence analyses of ESM Sections S1–S7. Two scripts check the package: verify_release.py (SHA-256 of all evidence files and a rerun of the Houston–Galveston pilot) and verify_figures.py (reruns the figure generators). Annual groundwater observations and aquifer polygons are from Jasechko (2023), https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10003697; third-party data remain under their source terms. See README.txt inside the ZIP file.
