Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Integrated wideband low noise amplifiers (LNAs) are used in communication applications in which either the signal bandwidth is large or multiple narrowband signals are processed simultaneously. This research work is design and construction of low noise amplifier (LNA) for RF front end in satellite communication system. As the first active building block in the receiver front-end, the LNA should provide considerable gain while minimizes the noise introduced to the satellite communication system. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the satellite communication design technique, the wideband LNAs are designed for a multi-standard system with the frequency range of 1 to 10 GHz. The received signal is typically filtered, amplified by an LNA and translated to the base-band by mixing with a local-oscillator (LO). So, this research will design in the first step of signal amplification is done by the LNA. This research work is calculated input/output impedance matching and DC biasing. The LNA operated at X band downlink satellite communication system. LNA is designed by using the S parameter and noise parameters from the datasheet of BFP720F. The research work has a gain of 17.8 dB and the noise figure of 2.32 dB at 7.5 GHz. Therefore, the performance of LNA can greatly affect sensitivity and noise parameters of the overall receiver. The circuit simulation of low noise amplifier design will be run in MATLAB Electronic Software and will be calculated the parameters of design with S-parameter.
