Abstract: ProblemGreenhouse lettuce growers face increasing pressure to improve yield and quality while reducing postharvest losses caused by grey mould (Botrytis cinerea). SolutionPreharvest application of MLEs boosts marketable yield, quality and mould resistance in hydroponic lettuce. Suitable for USDA organic, not EU organic. BenefitsMLEs provide a cost-effective, environmentally friendly strategy for increasing marketable yield, enhancing leaf quality and antioxidant content, as well as improving resistance to postharvest rot.
