Delta functions, a local coarea formula and marginal distributions

Abstract: We define multidimensional delta functions as generalized functions by pulling back the Dirac delta function, as well as products of such. We prove various formulas including a local version of the coarea formula and we use delta functions to compute marginal probability distributions on spheres.
