Infinite Continuum-Studio Documentation of 20 piece artwork grid
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Infinite Continuum is a 20-piece modular abstract painting installation (16×16 inches16×16 inches per canvas) that transforms international travel constraints into an evolving, reconfigurable artwork. Conceptually, the work explores historical maritime, cultural, and trade passages between India and Qatar, reflecting fluid migration across the Indian Ocean. Designed without a fixed orientation, the 20 panels can be continually reordered to reveal new horizon lines and spatial harmonies, granting curators and owners active creative agency. Each panel functions both as an autonomous micro-composition and as part of a collective grid that seamlessly re-forms if individual pieces are acquired. Materially, a heavy gesso foundation combined with Annie Sloan chalk paint and heavy-body acrylics creates a matte, weathered relief. This tactile surface evokes desert sands, coastlines, and aged dhow timbers, anchoring a vibrant regional palette in physical history.
