Abstract: Creatine (Cr) supplementation is widely described in the literature as an ergogenic strategy in high-intensity intermittent exercise. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of two creatine monohydrate supplementation protocols on resistance exercise performance, measured by the total number of repetitions performed at 70% of 1RM. This is an experimental study with 10 individuals (8 males and 2 females), divided into two groups: Cr1 (protocol with loading phase) and Cr2 (continuous dose), subjected to the Bench Press and 45° Leg Press exercises. After the supplementation period, a significant increase in the total number of repetitions was observed in both exercises, with no statistically significant difference between the protocols. In the Bench Press, the average increase was 18.86%, while in the 45° Leg Press it was 17.80%. An average increase of 1.6 kg in the total body mass of the participants was also observed. The findings suggest an ergogenic effect of creatine in high-intensity, short-duration exercise, possibly related to the increased availability of phosphocreatine.
