A Model for Developing the Individual Abilities of Preschool Children Based on the Activity-based Approach

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The development of individual abilities in early childhood is an important priority in contemporary preschool education. Each child demonstrates unique interests, cognitive characteristics, creative potential, and individual learning needs. Therefore, preschool education should provide opportunities for children to explore their interests, participate in diverse activities, and develop their abilities through active engagement. This article aims to develop a theoretical pedagogical model for fostering the individual abilities of preschool children based on the activity-based approach. The study employs theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, comparative analysis, synthesis, and pedagogical modelling. The proposed model consists of five interrelated components: target-oriented, content-based, process-oriented, diagnostic-monitoring, and outcome-oriented components. Its implementation involves play-based learning, creative tasks, experimentation, observation, constructive activities, and project-based learning. Particular attention is given to individual differences, child autonomy, pedagogical observation, and collaboration between teachers and families. The article provides a conceptual framework that may support the design of individualized educational environments in preschool institutions. Further empirical research is required to evaluate the model's effectiveness in practice.
