Exact travelling waves and physics-informed neural approximation for the (2+1)-dimensional Konopelchenko-Dubrovsky system
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: In this work, we study the nonlinear wave structures of the ( 2 + 1 ) -dimensional Konopelchenko-Dubrovsky system by using a hybrid analytical and PINN-based framework. The exact travelling wave solutions derived by the unified method include nonlinear structures such as bright, dark and kink solitons. The dynamical properties of these solutions are visualized using two-dimensional profiles, contour plots and three-dimensional surface plots. To validate the analytical results, a Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) framework is proposed where the governing equations and physical constraints are incorporated into the training procedure. The close agreement between the analytical and PINN predicted solutions demonstrates the ability of the proposed framework to accurately capture various nonlinear wave behaviours. In addition, this work provides a useful framework for the study of nonlinear dispersive systems in higher dimensions. Through developments in analytical modelling, computational methods, and machine learning-based approaches for complex nonlinear physical systems, the research advances SDG 9. Additionally, it may additionally be relevant to SDG 4 through the methodologies developed.
