Abstract: Across the globe, agricultural systems are under mounting pressure from rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and an increase in extreme weather events. To address these challenges, adaptation strategies must reduce the vulnerability of farms and sustain their productivity by strengthening their resilience. On the ground, soil and water conservation measures—such as contour bunds, mulching, and micro-catchments—are essential for retaining moisture and limiting erosion. Meanwhile, agroforestry and integrated crop-livestock systems introduce perennial elements that regulate the microclimate, mitigate the impact of climate shocks, and optimize nutrient cycling. On a larger scale, precision agriculture tools, remote sensing, and agro-climatic services guide decision-making, enabling targeted interventions across the landscape. Ultimately, the implementation of an integrated approach—linking water, energy, and food issues—highlights the critical importance of multisectoral collaboration.
