The Impact of Dynamic Cloud Computing and Employee Value Co-Creation on Employee Productivity
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Despite significant investments in advanced digital infrastructures, organizations continue to face the “digital productivity paradox,” where technological capacity fails to translate into sustained performance gains. This paper advances a conceptual framework positioning Employee Value Co-Creation (EVCC) as the critical mediator between dynamic cloud computing environments and employee productivity. Drawing on Service-Dominant Logic and Job Demands-Resources Theory, EVCC is operationalized as a unidimensional construct that captures employees’ role as resource integrators who actively reshape workflows and solve operational challenges in collaboration with technology. Rather than treating employees as passive adopters, the framework highlights their agency in co-producing task efficiency, output quality, and organizational agility. By reframing digital workplaces as bottom-up ecosystems of co-creation, this study contributes to Information Systems, Service-Dominant Logic, and Strategic Human Resource Management literatures, offering both theoretical insight and practical guidance for managers seeking to transform IT investments into measurable productivity outcomes.
