Data and R scripts for reproducing the analyses presented in "Genetic and environmental contributions to ozone-sensitivity traits in a peri-urban fir forest exposed to air pollution"

Abstract: Understanding evolutionary processes in human-impacted landscapes, such as peri-urban forests, is essential for effective management and conservation. These forests are frequently exposed to elevated tropospheric ozone (O₃), as observed in Mexico City, where asymptomatic fir (Abies religiosa) trees persist. We evaluated the relative contributions of landscape, climatic, and genomic factors in explaining ozone-related traits. In summary, O₃-related symptoms were polygenic and were shaping by environmental heterogeneity and ontogeny. Integrating genome-wide data with microsite conditions should be a priority for predicting O₃ sensitivity and guiding the management and conservation of peri-urban forests. This dataset includes tree phenotypic, genetic and environmentla data, as well as all R scripts and code required to reproduce the analyses. Together, these data allow evaluation of how genetic and enviromental variariation contribute to produce ozone symptoms in fir trees (Abies religiosa).
