Effect of the bioactive ingredients of grape on the quality of cosmetic creams

Year: 2026
Type: dissertation
Abstract: The use of plant-based raw materials and bioactive compounds in cosmetology has been steadily increasing, as it is associated with the development of natural and effective cosmetic products. In this context, grape (Vitis vinifera L.) represents a particularly important plant source due to its high content of polyphenols, flavonoids, and other bioactive compounds with strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of the present thesis was to investigate the effect of grape bioactive compounds on the quality of cosmetic creams, through the preparation of six different formulations, with or without the addition of aqueous grape extract. The evaluation of the formulations demonstrated that the presence of grape extract positively affects the characteristics of cosmetic creams, contributing to the improvement of texture, stability, and moisturizing properties.Furthermore, the bioactive compounds of grape enhance the antioxidant activity of the products, contributing to the protection of the skin against oxidative stress and premature aging.Overall, the results of the study indicate that grape constitutes a highly valuable natural raw material for the development of cosmetic creams, enhancing the effectiveness and quality of the final products.
