Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Generation Z tends to have shorter working hours than previous generations and places a supportive work environment, work-life balance, and well-being as the main considerations in determining career sustainability. Turnover intention in Generation Z employees is a challenge for organizations because it has the potential to affect the stability of human resources and organizational effectiveness. This study is needed with the aim of analyzing the influence of the work environment and work-life balance on turnover intention through job satisfaction as an intervening variable in Generation Z employees. Primary data was obtained through questionnaire deployment and analyzed using the PLS-SEM method with the help of SmartPLS version 4.1.1.8. The results of the study show that the work environment and work-life balance have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. In addition, only the work environment has been shown to have a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, while work-life balance and job satisfaction have no significant effect on turnover intention. The findings of the study confirm that job satisfaction has not played a role as an intervening variable in the relationship between the work environment and work-life balance and turnover intention. Simultaneously, work environment, work-life balance, and job satisfaction have a significant effect on turnover intention.
