Abstract: This study aims to describe the implementation of self-reflection-based classical guidance services in developing positive self-concept among eighth-grade students. The study employed Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) using a qualitative descriptive approach conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Cycle I used the Five-Finger Reflection technique to facilitate reflection on personal experiences, characteristics, strengths, limitations, and aspirations. Cycle II used a paired drawing activity with the theme Me in My Eyes vs. Me in Others’ Eyes to help students understand differences between self-perception and others’ perceptions. Cycle III used self-reflection and Butterfly Hug to facilitate meaning-making and self-acceptance throughout the developmental process. Data were collected through observations, student reflection sheets, process notes, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed the development of students’ reflective processes from Cycle I to Cycle III. Students began to recognize various aspects of themselves in Cycle I, understand differences between self-perception and others’ perceptions in Cycle II, and develop greater meaning, acceptance, and appreciation of themselves in Cycle III. These findings indicate that self-reflection can serve as an important component of classical guidance services in supporting the gradual and continuous development of positive self-concept.
