Orch-OR Evidence 2025–2026: Reviews, YouTube, and Irrelevant NLP Noise — E8 Intelligence Research
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: FINDING: Orch-OR remains a hypothesis-level framework; the 2025–2026 "evidence" is largely review/commentary content, not new peer-reviewed quantitative confirmation — the search results are YouTube expositions plus one unrelated clinical-NLP arXiv paper (ArchEHR-QA 2026), which is noise for this domain. MATH: No new equations appear in the retrieved items. The core Orch-OR formalism (as published by Penrose–Hameroff, not in these links) is: - Objective reduction time: τ ≈ ℏ / E_G, where E_G is the gravitational self-energy of the superposition of mass distributions. - E_G ≈ G·m² / Δx (order-of-magnitude for a mass m delocalized over Δx). - Tubulin conformational state space: each tubulin dimer ~10¹⁰⁰⁰? No — Hameroff cites ~10⁷ tubulins/neuron, ~10¹⁹ tubulins/brain; bit capacity per tubulin ~2 states → ~10¹⁹ bits, with superposition of ~10⁹ tubulins per "event." - Collapse frequency estimate: ~40 Hz (matching gamma-band EEG), derived from τ ≈ 25 ms. - Penrose's original (1989) estimat Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
