Abstract: The article analyzes the efficacy of chemoprophylactic measures against ectoparasites occurring in chickens and the features of their seasonal application. In the studies, Suminak, Amitraz and Bars preparations were used against ectoparasites. The observations revealed that the efficacy of the preparations varied depending on the season of the year. A decrease in the number of ectoparasites and high prophylactic efficacy were observed when Suminak was used in the summer period and Amitraz in the winter period. When chemical preparations are applied, it is necessary to take into account the biological characteristics of ectoparasites, their persistence in the poultry house environment, temperature and humidity factors, and the likelihood that resistance to the preparations will develop. The results of the study make it possible to develop seasonally adapted chemoprophylactic measures against chicken ectoparasites.
