Abstract: Based on the scientific literature, this article analyzes the species composition, regional distribution and seasonal dynamics of the main ectoparasites found in domestic chickens in Uzbekistan. The results of studies conducted in north-eastern and southern Uzbekistan, as well as in the Kashkadarya region, are summarized. According to the literature, the ectoparasites recorded in chickens mainly include Dermanyssus gallinae, Argas persicus and Argas reflexus. In north-eastern Uzbekistan, 18 ectoparasite species were identified in domestic and wild galliform birds, of which 3 species are ticks and mites and 15 are chewing lice. In the Kashkadarya region, 12 ectoparasite species were identified, with D. gallinae, A. persicus and Mallophaga reported as the dominant species. In this region, ectoparasites were recorded in 663 out of 1313 chickens, with an overall infestation rate of 50.5%. In terms of seasonal dynamics, the highest rates were observed in spring and autumn, and relatively low rates in winter and during the extremely hot periods of summer. Data on other regions of Uzbekistan, by contrast, are fragmentary, which indicates the need to establish a unified nationwide monitoring system.
