Abstract: This study was motivated by the presence of children aged 4–5 years experiencing speech delays and exhibiting distinct emotional patterns in their communication and interactions with their environment. The study aimed to analyze the emotional patterns of children aged 4–5 years with speech delays at TK Negeri Pembina 1, Jambi City. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was employed. The research subjects consisted of three children exhibiting characteristics of speech delay: M, E, and S. Data were collected through observations and interviews with teachers and parents, then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method involving data categorization and interpretation. The results revealed that M and E displayed emotional patterns tending toward expressiveness—such as anger, crying, and tantrums—when their desires were not met. In contrast, S exhibited more withdrawn emotional patterns, such as remaining silent, playing alone, avoiding interaction, and relying on nonverbal communication. Limited speaking ability was linked to how the children conveyed their desires and expressed their feelings, although it was not the sole factor influencing their emotional patterns
