Propuesta de un sistema agrosilvopastoril en una finca en la parroquia Simón Bolívar, provincia de Pastaza

Abstract: Agricultural lands are an important potential sink and could absorb large amounts of carbon if trees are reintroduced into these agroforestry systems (AFS) and properly managed along with crops and/or animals. Therefore, the importance of agroforestry as a land use system is receiving broader recognition not only in terms of agricultural sustainability but also in issues related to climate change. Historical evidence demonstrates that agroforestry has been widely practiced over the centuries as a means to achieve agricultural sustainability and curb the negative effects of traditional agriculture, such as soil degradation and desertification. In Ecuador, the agrosilvopastoral production systems implemented by small producers present certain area limitations, being able to produce foods of animal origin (milk, meat) in the forests without sacrificing the area dedicated to crops. Therefore, a proposal is provided that allows the implementation of an agrosilvopastoral system with different forest, agricultural and animal species. For which exploratory type research was considered, in which it focuses on analyzing and investigating specific aspects of reality that have not yet been analyzed in depth, basically it is an exploration or first approach that allows subsequent research to be directed to an analysis of the topic discussed. This proposal seeks to integrate new dynamically associated arrangements between forest species such as: Cedrelinga cateniformis (Chuncho), Inga edulis (guaba) and Leucaena leucocephala (Leucaena); In the case of animals, Bos taurus taurus (Charolais) cattle will be incorporated for their excellent meat production and finally annual crops such as Colocasia esculenta (papachina), Saccharum officinarum (cane) and Musa paradisiaca (banana) will be reinforced, guaranteeing the sustainability of the system.
