Effects of Anger Types on Happiness among Nursing Students: The Mediating Role of Resilience

Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study aimed to verify the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between anger expression types and happiness among nursing students.Data were collected from 129 nursing students from June 1 to June 30, 2026.Statistical analyses were performed using version SPSS 30.0 using t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression. The results indicated that anger-in was related to gender (t=-2.68,p<.05), anger-control was related to religion (t=2.27,p<.05), and resilience was related to health.Pregnancy (F=8.80,p<.001), happiness was related to gender (t=3.28,p<.01) and health status (F=10.26,p<.001).Anger-in was positively correlated with anger-out (r=.48, p<.001) and anger-control (r=.20, p<.05), but negatively correlated with resilience (r=-.19,p<.05) and happiness (r=-.34,p<.001).Anger-out showed a significant negative correlation with anger-control (r=-.29,p<.001) and happiness (r=-.22,p<.05).In contrast, anger-control was positively correlated with resilience (r=.32, p<.001), and resilience exhibited a strong positive correlation with happiness (r=.60, p<.001).The mediating effect of resilience in the relationship between anger types and happiness was statistically significant (β=7.26,p<.001).The model's explanatory power, represented by the adjusted R-squared, was 43.5% (F=21.24,p<.001).The findings suggest that to enhance nursing students' happiness, it is essential to develop interventions that focus on anger-control and anger-in, which ultimately strengthen resilience.
