Abstract: This study aims to examine the mediating role of digital burnout in the relationship between technostress and cyberloafing within the framework of the conservation of resources theory. The sample of the study consists of 712 individuals working in the provincial directorates affiliated with the provincial organizations of the ministries in Giresun city center. Correlation and regression analyses were conducted in the study, and the mediating effect was tested using Process Macro (Model 4). The findings indicate that there are significant and positive relationships between technostress, digital burnout, and cyberloafing. It was determined that technostress is positively associated with cyberloafing and that digital burnout has a significant indirect effect on this relationship. In addition, it was concluded that there are positive relationships between technostress and digital burnout, as well as between digital burnout and cyberloafing. Overall, the study supports the conservation of resources theory by demonstrating that intensive technology use increases levels of technostress and digital burnout, which in turn enhances cyberloafing behaviors.
