Type: article
Abstract: The fast big change in schools from classrooms to Virtual Learning Platforms (VLPs) has given a lot of freedom but it has also put students at risk of serious and new mental problems. This paper does a study in psychology that looks at how long use of Virtual Learning Platforms causes mental distress in students. Using three theories—John Sweller’s Cognitive Load Theory, Deci and Ryan’s Self Determination Theory and Lazarus and Folkman’s Transactional Model of Stress and Coping—this study gives a deep look at the ways digital life hurts students, such as academic burnout, techno stress and the common "Zoom fatigue. “The paper also looks at how moving to Virtual Learning Platforms affects life and how the loss of clear home and school borders and the alienation caused by screens hurt students’ mental health. By finding the causes that drain students’ mental energy this research fills a gap in the current literature. Finally this work offers teaching ideas and school rules that focus on students to ease anxiety restore clear limits and keep students healthy in the changing Virtual Learning Platforms world.
