Abstract: Negative self-image among junior high school students is characterized by a desire to look more attractive, low self-acceptance, and negative perceptions of physical appearance. The Problem Checklist (DCM) administered at SMP Negeri 5 Madiun showed that many seventh-grade students chose the statement "I want to be more attractive." This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the positive self-talk technique in improving the positive self-image of seventh-grade students through classical guidance services. The study used a quantitative experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample, selected through purposive sampling based on the DCM results, consisted of 32 students. Data were collected using a self-image scale with a Likert format and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test in SPSS. The results showed that the mean self-image score increased from 60.88 to 78.44 (Z = -4.461. These findings indicate that the positive self-talk technique can be used as an alternative intervention in classical guidance services to improve the positive self-image of junior high school students.
