Abstract: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia due to defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Long-term glycemic control can be assessed using HbA1c testing, which reflects average blood glucose levels over the preceding months. This study aimed to evaluate changes in HbA1c levels among T2DM patients receiving antidiabetic therapy at Shanaya Main Clinic. The study used a quantitative observational method with a retrospective design and secondary data consisting of medical records, antidiabetic prescription data, and HbA1c test results. Samples were determined by total sampling and consisted of 26 patients who met the inclusion criteria and had HbA1c data at the beginning and end of the evaluation period. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing baseline and final HbA1c levels and calculating the percentage of patients achieving the HbA1c target of <7%. The results showed that the mean HbA1c level was 9.13% at baseline and 6.30% at the end of the evaluation period, a mean reduction of 2.83 percentage points. All patients (26 patients; 100%) experienced a reduction in HbA1c and achieved the HbA1c target of <7%. Antidiabetic therapy in the observed patients showed an improvement in glycemic control. However, the findings should be interpreted cautiously because of the retrospective design without a control group, so the HbA1c reduction cannot be attributed solely to antidiabetic therapy. Continued therapy evaluation and patient education remain necessary to maintain glycemic control.
