Abstract: Despite routine 6-month health examinations at Dr. Mintohardjo Naval Hospital, fluctuations in fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels continue to be found among Indonesian Navy personnel. This study analyzed the relationship between work shifts, stress levels, age, and tenure with FBG levels using a cross-sectional design involving 10 respondents selected via purposive sampling. The results showed that the respondents ranged in age from 27 to 45 years. Furthermore, the FBG categories were distributed as follows: 5 respondents (50%) were normal, 2 respondents (20%) were pre-diabetic, and 3 respondents (30%) were diabetic. Descriptive statistics revealed an average age of 36 years, an average tenure of 9 years, night-shift work, and a moderate average stress level. The mean FBG level was 104.5 mg/dL. Correlation analysis indicated that age, tenure, shift type, and stress level all showed significant relationships with glucose levels, with a p-value of less than alpha 0.05. These were positive correlations—meaning an increase in one variable corresponded to an increase in the other—with correlation strengths ranging from high to very high.
