HexaSignal: An Auditable Reference Pipeline for Six-Bit I Ching Representation and Sonification

Abstract: Title HexaSignal: An Auditable Reference Pipeline for Six-Bit I Ching Representation and Sonification Description This software-and-methods preprint presents HexaSignal v0.1.0, an auditable Python reference pipeline for the representation, validation, and deterministic sonification of the 64 I Ching hexagrams. The implementation establishes explicit binary encoding conventions, derives King Wen identities through documented trigram mappings, generates a complete stereo audio corpus, and records structural statistics, execution metadata, and cryptographic integrity checks. A mapping audit identified three discrepancies in a preserved legacy lookup table. Cross-environment replication conducted on October 29, 2026, reproduced all 65 reference WAV files and five additional deterministic outputs byte-for-byte, with all 12 unit tests passing. The contribution is an integrated and reproducible research-software reference implementation, not a new mathematical theory or evidence for previously unknown physical effects. The software and reference corpus are available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23776708.
