Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Brainstorming Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa Sekolah Dasar Pada Pembelajaran Ipas
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Creative thinking is an important ability to develop among elementary school students, particularly in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning. IPAS learning requires students not only to understand concepts but also to generate ideas, ask questions, and identify alternative solutions to everyday problems. One instructional method that may support this ability is brainstorming, which allows students to express various ideas before evaluating and selecting them. This article aims to review previous research concerning the use of brainstorming and its relationship with students’ creative thinking skills, particularly in elementary science learning. This study employs a narrative literature review approach by examining publications related to brainstorming, creative thinking, and science education. The reviewed literature includes studies directly related to elementary science and IPAS, as well as supporting studies conducted in other learning contexts. The findings suggest that brainstorming has the potential to encourage students to generate ideas, consider alternative answers, and participate actively in discussions. However, the strength of these conclusions is influenced by differences in educational levels, subjects, research designs, and supporting instructional media. Therefore, the implementation of brainstorming in IPAS learning should involve contextual problems, an open discussion environment, and assessments aligned with creative-thinking indicators.
