Abstract: This study aims to describe and analyze the life courses of elderly inmates convicted of child sexual offenses, referred to in this study as pedophilia-related crimes, at Class IIA Bukittinggi Correctional Institution, Indonesia, from the perspective of Life Course Criminology. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted with five elderly inmates aged 69 to 74 years, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentary studies and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña with the assistance of NVivo 15. The analysis focused on four concepts: trajectory, transition, turning point, and social bonds. The findings show that the informants had diverse life courses in terms of education, employment, economic conditions, family life, and social relationships. The reported changes included changes in employment and income after retirement, changes in physical condition, loss of a spouse, and dynamics in family relationships. However, the available data were insufficient to establish a single factor or event as the direct cause of the offenses across all informants. Life Course Criminology provides a framework for reading the informants' life courses chronologically and contextually without forcing a uniform causal pattern. The study concludes that the life courses of elderly inmates should be understood individually by considering life experiences, changes in social roles, and social relationships supported by the data.
